Cuba, El Salvador Strengthen Ties

Cuba and El Salvador this week reaffirmed their willingness to continue and deepen relations, which were restored on June 1, 2009 after nearly 50 years.

That decision was expressed in a statement issued by the foreign ministers of the two nations, Bruno Rodriguez and Hugo Martinez, following an official visit by Rodriguez, which began Dec. 5 and ended last Tuesday.

The visit, the first by a Cuban foreign minister to El Salvador in history, was very favorable for continuing the high-level dialogue between the two governments, the statement said. Read Story
