Cuba, 7 Tuberculosis cases per 100,000

Cuba has an incidence rate of seven tuberculosis (TB) cases per 100,000 inhabitants, one of the lowest in the world, according to figures released by the Public Health Ministry on Thursday, the World Tuberculosis Day. “This achievement is the result of the systematic monitoring and treatment programs developed by the health authorities after the triumph of the Cuban Revolution in 1959,” Antonio Marrero Figueroa, a member of the National Ministry of Public Health Respiratory Diseases, said.
