Costa Rica: approximately 31 out of a million banknotes are counterfeit

An estimated of 31 tickets per million units of paper money circulating in the country are false, according to official Central Bank of Costa Rica (BCCR). The data, as explained by the Central, correspond to the new family of banknotes in denominations of ¢ 2 000 (blue ticket) and ¢ 20 000 (orange ticket). In the previous family ticket (¢ ¢ 5 000 and 10 000) were detected in all denominations fakes. Read Article
