Commission reported to police and military abuses against drug trafficking in Mexico

Social organizations reported on Monday before the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) police and military abuses committed in the war on drugs for the management of Mexico’s President Felipe Calderon. “Since in 2006, President Felipe Calderon launched the national strategy against organized crime, there have been complaints from nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) about the harassment, arbitrary detentions, torture, and lack of transparency exercised by State security forces, “said the spokesman for the Mexican Citizens in Support of Human Rights, Karín Zazueta in the second day of public hearings of the 141 session of the Commission.
