Colombian Police and Interpol Take Down Human Trafficking Network

•With Interpol’s support, the Colombian Police was able to take down 3 transnational organizations that specialized in trafficking Colombian women and forcing them into prostitution.
•According to El Espectador, the groups also specialized in attaining false visas to Central America.
•Five men, who trafficked young and underprivileged people by promising them work outside of the country, were captured in cities such as Bogotá, Cali, and Buenaventura.
•The network would obtain passports and visas for the women who would find themselves in places such as the Netherlands and China and forced into prostitution.
•Five individuals were also captured in the capital del Valle del Cauca for falsifying visas to Costa Rica. Read Article
