Colombia, Reform for Higher Budgets for Universities

•The Colombian government is planning to include an increase in budgets for Universities and institutions of higher learning in the reforms to the educational system as revealed by Caracol Radio.
•The budgets would be between 230 billion pesos and 440 billion pesos.
•The government is also planning to create more private institutions to share the costs of higher education with the government.
•The Reform of Higher Education is also to include a chapter to ensure that institutions maintain autonomy in academic, financial, and administrative matters, but also that the government would perform inspections on the institutions.
