Colombia, Two Police Officers Injured in Suspected FARC Attack in San Pedro

•On Monday at 10:00 p.m., the two officers, Nelson Enrique Larrea Fernández and Edwin Cuero Rojas, were seriously injured when they were ambushed and attacked with 40 millimeter grenades and rifle shots from a hill as revealed by elpais.com.co.
•They were headed towards Todos Los Santos in San Pedro, Valle del Cauca to check on the houses of the mayor and two councilors.
•Also hurt was Alejandra Girón Girón who was with her father on a motorcycle when the attack occurred.
•Although FARC is suspected, commandant of the Third Brigade, Colonel Luis Édgar Cifuentes Cardozo commented that the attack did not fit the m.o. of FARC.
•According to the commandant, FARC would have taken their weapons, and thus suspects this to be an act of common delinquency. Read Article
