Colombia: Child Killer Sentenced to 40 Years, Extradition Request from Ecuador

• Hoy.com.ec reports that Colombian Ministry of the Interior and Judicial officials say the child assassin, Luis Alfredo Garavito, who was sentenced by a Colombian court to 40 years in prison for the deaths of 168 children must serve out his sentence and then be prosecuted in Ecuador.
• Officials add 24 years of prison time was taken off Garavito’s sentence since he led authorities to some of his victim’s remains.
• The National Court of Justice in Ecuador asked for Garavito’s extradition this past May.
• Ecuadorian officials say that he is suspected of murdering two Ecuadorian children in 1998.
• Garavito’s nickname is “La Bestia,” or the Beast.Read Article
