Chilean Arrested For Urinating on Peruvian Monument, Serious Consequences

According to ElComercio.pe Yerko Cornejo Soto, 24, was arrested on Sunday June 26th, for urinating on the monument of hero Francisco Bolognesi located in the civic center of Tacna. A Peruvian court on Monday June 27th fined Cornejo S/ 3,500 as well as giving him a sentence of 2 years and 6 months house arrest, report officials. The judge presiding over the case said that by urinating on the monument Cornejo insulted the heroes of Peru. After being sentence Cornejo issued a public apology for his behavior that he says was due to intoxication. A correspondent of El Comercio in Tacna says that Cornejo will have to report his activities to the Tacna court every two months.
