Chile, Former President Allende’s death confirmed a suicide

The director of Forensic Medical Services in Chile confirmed theories today that the death of former president Salvador Allende on September 11, 1973 was a suicide, according to abc.com.py. The former president’s remains were unearthed this past May and the autopsy showed that Allende used an AK-47 automatic weapon which shot two bullets, one of which was found during the autopsy. Allende killed himself during the bombing of La Moneda as part of a coup led by Augusto Pinochet. The family of the former president says they are comforted to finally know the truth.
