Chile employing drones in fight against drug trafficking along border with Bolivia, Peru

The Minister of Interior of Chile, Rodrigo Ubilla announced Friday that drones deployed to control its border with Bolivia and Peru, in order to prevent the passage of drug trafficking and smuggling.

According to a report by the ANSA news agency, the addition of these aircraft, with flight range of four to five hours and with good deployment in complex terrain and altitudes above 4,000 meters above sea level, is part of the “Northern Border Plan,” which has an investment of $ 71.4 million between 2011 and 2014.
