Chiapas Mexico is aiming to become largest Tilapia producer in Latin America

undercurrentnews.com reported the Mexican state of Chiapas expects to become Latin America’s largest tilapia producer, and the largest exporter of fresh fillets to the US, thanks to funds to be awarded to the aquaculture group Dos Lagos, reported Milenio. “[Dos Lagos’ production] will make Chiapas the main producer of this fish in Latin America and the main exporter of fresh fillets to the US,” Manuel Velasco Coello, head of the state’s administration, reportedly said.
