Buenos Aires, Argentina: Police Arrest Couple for Human Trafficking

On July 31, 2013 Nuevo Diario Noticias reported the arrest of Daniel Soriano and his partner María Ester Yancarelli on charges of human trafficking. The arrests occurred following inspections on their farms which showed overcrowding, unsafe working and living conditions and unregistered workers, among other infractions.
The couple is accused of exploiting the labor of workers from Santiago del Estero and Bolivia on two farms in Buenos Aires. On one of the farms, police confirmed the presence of 11 workers including one minor, and on the other farm they found 30 workers, 15 of them from Santiago del Estero. Read Article
