British Prime Minister closes door on negotiations over sovereignty of Falkland Islands

The British Prime Minister David Cameron , yesterday closed the door to negotiations with Argentina over the sovereignty of the Falklands and harshly criticized the decision of the Mercosur block access to its ports of ships under the flag of the islands. In his Christmas message to the Islanders, Cameron described as “unjustified and counterproductive” Mercosur’s decision, taken this week at the initiative of Argentina during the recent summit in Montevideo, and stressed that “never negotiate on sovereignty” if do not want the people of the archipelago.
