Bread prices at risk to increase in Argentina

The price of bread and pasta in Argentina is at risk to increase in the next couple of days, according to tn.com.ar. In the wake of the disbandment of the corrupt National Bureau of Farm Trade Control (Oncca) earlier this year, flour millers are arguing with the government over a 2000 million peso compensation for subsidies that the Oncca was responsible for paying. The government says they will repay the remaining debts not payed by the Oncca but the millers argue that they never received anything from the organization and the government needs to pay the full amount. Other solutions presented by the millers state that the government could forgive the debts or lower the price of flour, if not the price of bread could go up to 10 pesos a kilo in the next few days. The price of dry pasta, baked goods, empanadas and pizzas would go up too.
