Brazil government says 100,000 displaced by floods

Heavy flooding in Brazil kills 35, leaves thousands homeless, and submerges nearly 60 cities in four states. Brazilian authorities said the number of people left homeless by flooding has risen to about 100,000 in four southeastern states. Reports from regional civil defense authorities showed that Minas Gerais state had been hit the hardest, with 16 dead there as of Friday.
