Brazil deploys troops to Triple Frontier

As part of a military operation called Frontera Sur, Brazil has deployed troops to the cities Foz de Iguazú and Guaíra along the southern tri-border the country shares with Argentina and Paraguay to help fight crimes like drug trafficking and the smuggling of people and goods. Of Brazil’s 4 thousand men army, 800 are stationed at Foz de Iguazú. The mobilization stage of the operation will last until June 11 at which time the Brazilian government will strengthen their presence at the Triple Frontier, according to lavozdecataratas.com.
