Brazil begins large military operation along triple frontier to slow arms and drug dealing

Brazil’s army began on Friday gave a mega security operation on the Triple Frontier, with the aim of curbing illegal activities as smuggling and drug trafficking and weapons. The Brazilian general Ajax Porto Pinheiro, one of the persons responsible for operating Agate 2, announced that the controls in the area where forces are deployed will be rigorous and that the military mobilization is one of the largest ever seen in the Three Borders. The operating principle is planning to expand on Monday, 26 this month, came as a surprise to the inhabitants of Ciudad del Este (Paraguay), Puerto Iguazú (Argentina) and Foz de Iguazu (Brazil), municipalities that make up the so-called Triple Border since as reported by the media in those places, at no time was any information known about the movements of military forces.
