Brazil: At least 20 swimmers attacked by fish from piraña family, low water levels blamed

At least twenty people suffered minor injuries in the toes and hands when attacked by a river cadumen de palometas (of the family of the piranha), a South American Southern Cone fish, when taking bath in South Brazil, firefighters reported. The attack occurred late on Sunday in two bathing areas Toropí River, which crosses the central region of Rio Grande do Sul, the southernmost state of Brazil, bordering Argentina and Uruguay, according to the source.
