Bolivian dynamite sticks seized in Ecuador, used for illegal mining

The infantry brigade of the army in Ecuador discovered 1,047 sticks of dynamite, 533 detonation capsules, 1,250 meters of fuses, and 450 pounds of aluminum nitrate. 245 of the dynamite sticks are thought to originate in Bolivia. They were discovered in the Chuquiribamba parish, as well as the Chaguarpamba county in Ecuador, La Hora reports. The explosive materials are thought to be used for illegal mining. No one was arrested in the seizure. Once investigations have been completed, the explosives will be destroyed in a manner that does not harm the environment. Read Article
