Bogotá Drivers Buy Detectors To Avoid Police Radar Guns, Colombia

•Councilor Felipe Ríos relates the fact that drivers in Bogotá have been using detectors to avoid police radar guns that measure their vehicles’ speed.
•In the report by El Espectador, Río states that there is no regulation for these detectors.
•They allow the drivers enough time either to slow down or take a different route because of their high detection range.
•In 2010, there were 13,492 court summons issued for speeding.
•On average, the detectors cost between 180,000 and 700,000 pesos. Read Article
