FARC MAY BE BEHIND PROTESTS reported that troops deployed in Colombian capital amid deadly clashes
Troops were ordered onto the streets of Bogota on Friday after deadly violence broke out amid nationwide protests, in the first major military deployment in the Colombian capital since the peak of the country’s civil conflict.
President Juan Manuel Santos ordered the army into the capital as he announced the deployment of some 50,000 extra troops across the country, to quell unrest and secure roads blocked by angry demonstrators.
