Argentine tourist killed in Peru from lighting strike

A national of Argentina tourist died after being struck by lightning while returning from visiting Churup Lake , located in the area of Tayacoto in Huaraz ( Ancash ). The fatality was identified as Walter Frederick Lohlé (36). His body was rescued by members of the Unit and the High Mountain Dirincri, in coordination with the Attorney General office, which ruled that his remains be moved to the city morgue for later repatriation. Authorities believe that metal objects inside his backpack may have been what caused the lighting to strike him. Read Article
