Argentine Senate debates money laundering law

The Senate is meeting today to discuss and vote on a new law that will punish money laundering as a separate crime. This legislation was proposed by the government in regulation with the Financial Action Task Force guidelines on how to handle money laundering offenses. The new law also changes the election process for leaders of the Financial Intelligence Unit, according to pagina12.com.ar.
