Argentina,146 deaths reported in federal prisons since 2009

Between 2009 and 2011 there were 146 violent and nonviolent deaths in the 35 federal prisons in our country. The annual report Attorney’s Office Prison appears that the criminal Ezeiza is the unit with more deaths. The Procurator’s Office, Francisco Mugnolo, reported 91 deaths in federal prisons in Argentina. The figure comes from the 2010 annual report of the Attorney Penitentiary. At the time of writing the Annual Report 2010, the Attorney Prison has been 91 deaths since initiated the application of the Procedure for Investigation and Documentation of death in prison in January 2009. Of these 91 deaths, 47 for the year 2009, 31 to 2010 and the remaining 13 to the 1st. quarter of 2011, when it closed the report.
