Argentina: Unions strike, begins 24 hour strike

Unions oppose the Argentine government on Tuesday blocked roads and streets, paralyzed air and ground transportation and grain exports slowed in the first general strike in nearly 10 years to demand compensation for workers by high inflation in the country.

The 24-hour protest called by the main labor union, the Peronist Confederation of Labour (CGT), and the smallest Central of Argentine Workers (CTA) was complied mostly between service unions and state employees. Left parties also called the strike. Read Article
