Argentina, Scams for holiday rentals up 70 percent

The Tourism Law Association received 154 cases this year against 89 in 2009. In most, the tourists made the bank deposit and the landlord then disappeared. The coastal areas have been the areas most affected. Most of the scams are run on the internet, where the thief demands a fifty percent down payment for a contract. Then they dissapear.
