Argentina only country producing treatment drug for Chagas Disease

Few examples lighter than the Chagas disease to fully understand what is spoken when it comes to “neglected diseases” in 2003 the international laboratory that produced it manufactured the last game the only drug developed in decades to eliminate the parasite that cause, Trypanosoma cruzi. Late last year, and in the midst of a critical situation for patients and the desperation of the people working in the field, the humanitarian organization Doctors Without Borders released a warning about the depletion of the stock of benznidazole. Now, after a failed attempt in Brazil because of an agreement between two local pharmaceutical companies (Maprimed and Elea), Healthy World Foundation and the Ministry of Health of the Nation, Argentina will become the single largest producer of the drug.
