Posted on May 27, 2011 • Filed under: Agriculture, Argentina, Culture, TRAVEL

Reporters from conexionbrando.com share their experience after visiting a yerba and tea plantation in Corrientes called Las Marías. By following longtime grower and tea connoisseur, Néstor Galvalisi, they learn about the process of harvesting, drying, resting, testing and packaging tea and yerba. Galvalisi treats his crops with love during the harvesting process and sends the products to dry in a wood fire for 12 hours until the oven reaches 1112℉. The tea then rests in specially designed sheds for 8 months, until it is ready to be tested. Expert Walter Martínez tastes the products in a room lit with red lights and makes notes. They then package according to the local culture of the shipment destination.
