Amapá, Brazil: Army Launches Cross-Border Operation with French Guiana

Globo on September 26, 2013 reported that the Brazilian Army in Oiapoque, Amapá launched an operation along the border of French Guiana in attempt to fight cross-border crimes. Operation “Curare” will work to combat environmental crimes, human trafficking, and illegal mining. 550 soldiers were used, including boats and helicopters. The Operation, continuing into October of this year, includes the support of the Brazilian Intelligence Agency, the National Security Force, and other government agencies. Read Article[geo_mash_up]
