Airplane loaded with cocaine and marijuana grounded in Mexicali, Mexico

A Cessna airplane was discovered at a clandestine airstrip in Mexicali, Mexico. It contained 84 total packages with 434 kilos and 610 grams of marijuana, and 12 packages containing 13 kilos and 36 grams of cocaine. The plane was detected by radar and satellite surveillance, San Diego Red reports. Jesús Lindbergh Gómez García and Juan Gabriel Zurita Aguilar were arrested during the operation for transporting the drugs. Officials have not confirmed whether the two were affiliated with any particular cartel; however, a non-authorized source claimed the plane originated in Sinaloa, which is dominated by the Sinaloa Cartel.
