Africa a “drug bridge” between Latin America and Europe, UN says

The United Nations International Narcotics control reported that Africa has become a hub for drug trafficking from Latin America to Europe. According to an El Mundo report, drugs from countries such as Colombia enter Africa through the west coast. At the same time, countries in eastern Africa often serve as transit areas for drugs heading to Asia. The UN reports seizures of heroin and morphine in Kenya and Ethiopia increased 10% from 2009 to 2010. Illegal substance abuse within Africa has also increased recently. Read Article
