ACLU asks DHS initiate investigation of alleged abuses at U.S. ports of entries with Mexico

The Civil Liberties Union of U.S. (ACLU) asked the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to initiate an investigation into alleged abuses against U.S. citizens, legal residents and other visitors at ports of entry along the border with Mexico.

The complaint, formally sent yesterday, cites evidence of 11 alleged victims of agents of the Bureau of Customs and Border Protection (CBP) who violated his rights when crossing the border, ACLU said today at a press conference in San Diego.

According to ACLU, actions such as use of excessive force, ignoring legal proceedings and confiscation of property without justification, constitute violations of the Constitution, international law and their own agency rules. Read Article
