According to Agencia Fronteriza de Noticias, the marijuana was worth 3,200,000 pesos. El Tinpan was stopped after police saw him walking with a package that resembled those used to transport drugs. After confirming that the package he was carrying was indeed marijuana, officials conducted a search of his vehicle, which revealed 13 packages of the drug, as well as equipment for pressing it. The Canine Unit was then called to assist in the search, which revealed the additional packages in the tires. Some were also found in the gasoline tank. The suspect admitted the drugs would be transported to the United States and claimed he worked for someone called “El Kito,” who lived in the United States.
