Argentine politics face uncertainty as election year approaches

s the 2011 election year is around the corner, Argentines are still uncertain whether President Cristina Fernandez would seek reelection.
The president’s office has said a decision on this would be announced in April or May 2011, roughly six months before the presidential elections scheduled for Oct. 23.

According to an opinion poll of the Poliarquia consultancy, Fernandez could win next year’s elections with 47 percent of the votes, and the influence of her late husband and predecessor Nestor Kirchner boosts her reelection prospects. Read Story
