Quito Ecuador: Police identify 76 areas infested with microtrafficking of illegal drugs

Elcomercio.com has identified at least 76 areas in Quito where micro trafficking or retail sales of illicit drugs are being carried out.

San Roque is a neighborhood nestled in the foothills of the Pichincha volcano. Is located in the center of Quito and only in this area, the Antinarcotics Unit officers have identified 37 ‘witches’ – as it is known to the ticket – selling of marijuana. One of them is ‘Andrea’, a woman that three years is dedicated to commercialize the drug in small quantities. She ensures that the market of the area there are two groups that control the sale of alkaloids. The first is led by a woman. They take over territory from six in the morning to five in the afternoon. The other group, account, is directed by a man, who sits on the streets near the center of supplies. Read Article
