Paraná, Brazil: Police Confiscate R$ 21 Million in Smuggled Goods

londrina.odiario.com reported on May 31, 2013 that the Battalion Border Police confiscated more than R$ 21 million in smuggled goods over the past 10 months. The commander of the battalion states all seizures do not only reflect the success of combating illegal activity in the areas of Paraná, but of areas all over the country, which receive these illegal products. The battalion operates in 19 border counties and works with more than 120 police officers. Contraband items seized include electronics, medicines, cosmetics, tires, cigarettes, drugs and firearms.
