Caracas asks Interpol to issue an arrest warrant against former judge

The office of the attorney general of Venezuela, Luisa Ortega Diaz, asked on Friday to the international police agency (Interpol) issued an arrest warrant against the Venezuelan Supreme Court exmagistrado former prosecutor and military Eladio Aponte, who was removed from office last month for allegedly taking bribes from drug trafficker Walid Makled.

Aponte responded by accusing members of government, including President Hugo Chavez, to manipulate the judicial system, which is like a “clay” in his opinion. Aponte revealed in a television interview broadcast Wednesday by Soi TV, based in Miami, he received calls “from the president down” in asking him manipulase Venezuelan justice. Read Article
