FARC ready to begin release of hostages, demand humanitarian groups visit guerrillas in prisons

The Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) announced they are ready to begin the process of release of 10 of their hostages, but insisted that the national government allow humanitarian activists to visit the imprisoned guerrillas in the country’s prisons. Through a statement, the FARC claimed to have all the logistics to implement the process of release, which will take place over two days before the April 3, according to activist Piedad Cordoba said. The governments of Colombia and Brazil, together representing the Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the organization Colombians for Peace, signed the security protocol and coordination for this unilateral release.
