8 members of FARC died in combat, Defense Minister says

Colombian Minister of Defense Juan Carlos Pinzón said that at least 8 guerrillas belonging to the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) group died during a military operation in Nechí, Antioquia, to the north of the country. According to BBC Mundo, Admiral Roberto Garcia, head of the Navy, stated that the deceased individuals belonged to FARC front 37, and that 3 rebels were captured, of which two were gravely injured. He also said officials are working to determine whether head of the faction Luis Enrique Benítez, alias ‘Silvio’ or ‘Francés’, was among the dead. Read Article
