61 Brazilian soccer fans arrested in Paraguay for theft and vandalism

Police arrested the 61 Brazilian Santos fans and their bus drivers after a semifinals soccer game of the Copa Libertadores against Paraguayan team Cerro Porteño yesterday. On their way home to Brazil after the tie game, the fans attacked local fast food joints in San Lorenzo, outside Asunción, with firecrackers, sticks and stones, damaged equipment and stole cash from the register. The fans were later transported to a prison in Foz do Iguaçu.
