32 journalists killed in Latin America through July 2012

Santiago de Chile, (Mapocho Press.) – With three other journalists silenced by force in Brazil, Ecuador and Honduras, and two disappeared in Mexico during July, a total of 32 journalists and media workers were killed and four are missing in seven countries in Latin America and the Caribbean in the seven months of 2012, according to the Commission to Investigate Crimes Against Journalists (CIAP) of the Latin American Federation of Journalists (Felap). The average age of these 35 victims of murder and kidnapping is 38.4 years. Read Article
