2012 historical profits for Mexican banks

Mexico City. Private banks operating in Mexico ended 2012 with a historic amount of profits. The whole system of institutions, mostly controlled by foreign firms, achieved net profits last year by 87 000 126.20 million pesos, 20.6 more than those in 2011 and a rate fivefold the expected growth of the economy in that period, according to a report released Wednesday by the National Banking and Securities Commission (CNBV).
