15 dead after truck carrying drugs crashes with tourist van in Brazil

A truck travelling from Paraguay with 300 kilos of marijuana struck a tourist van head-on along Route 277 in Brazil, between Nova Laranjeiras and Guaraniaçu. The tourists were on a shopping trip to Foz do Iguaçu. According to Infobae, the truck driver lost control of the vehicle. He died on the way to the hospital. 14 van passengers also died. Two survivors were transported to a nearby hospital. One of them, a fifteen-year-old, remains in critical condition. After the accident, residents in nearby communities looted the truck’s contents, prompting authorities to negotiate with a cacique for the return of the stolen items. Read Article
