1 billion in capital ouflowed last week Brazil

Brazil had an outflow of $1 billion last week as financial capital flows outweighed the trade surplus, the central bank said Wednesday.

The country had an inflow of $6.59 billion in April, including an inflow of $786 million on Monday, April 30, and a total outflow of $1.79 billion on May 2, 3 and 4. May 1 was a holiday in Brazil.

Brazil had exports of $25.14 billion in April, and imports of $17.61 billion, leaving a surplus of $7.53 billion. There were financial inflows of $37.76 billion and outflows of $38.70 billion, leaving a net outflow of $939 million for the month. Read Article
