Uruguay: Former President Supports Legalization of Cocaine

From lainformacion.com on August 8, 2013- The former president of Uruguay, Tabaré Vásquez, expressed his support for the legalization of cocaine, following the vote in the Uruguayan House that would legalize marijuana pending a vote in the Senate. Vásquez, an oncologist, says that drug use is inevitable and that liberalization of drug policy allows for regulation and widespread public education on the dangers of drug use. At the same time Vásquez announced his intent to run for president in 2014. Read Article
