Ecuador: Group of Cuban Doctors ask for end of xenophobia and end to medical missions

martinoticias.commartinoticias.com / In an open letter to the opposition presidential candidates, the Cuban X Movement candidates called for the closure of the agreements signed by the current president Rafael Correa and Raúl Castro.

The X-Movement Cuba (MXC), which groups health professionals born on the island and based in Ecuador, asked candidates opposed to the government of Rafael Correa not to exacerbate “xenophobia” against Cubans , and to end The medical missions of Cuban doctors in that country.

The organization’s vice president, Dr. Michel Larrondo , told Martí Noticias that the campaign of some opposition candidates discriminates against Cuban doctors , perhaps in a strategy to win the vote of Ecuadorian doctors, who perceive Cubans as a competition.
