The Hieleros Chimborazo is a documentary that was filmed from 1977-1980 by Igor Gustavo Guayasamin and shows the hard work of the men in the mines of 5000 m high ice exploit our biggest snow.
In colonial times , Chimborazo Hieleros walked five days to reach Babahoyo , Pueblo Viejo and Vinces . The Hieleros participated in the struggles of Independence , who ambushed the Spanish army led by their chaquiñanes patriot troops fought near Guaranda November 9 , 1820. Since then there have been 184 years , more than 50 presidents, 32 dictatorships and charged dozens of power , but for them the story remained in the Colony
