In a rambling statement posted on his campaign’s Facebook page on Monday, Ecuador’s richest man and banana magnate Alvaro Noboa promised a parliamentary coup if his slate wins enough seats in the upcoming national assembly vote on Feb. 19.

“It doesn’t matter which candidate Ecuadoreans vote for,” he said. “One of these (presidential) candidates will win, but they won’t have popular support.”
