Reason Why Rains Persist over Areas of Ecuador

According to the Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting and Alerts Department of the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (INAMHI), in its warning bulletin issued on Monday, June 19, the circulation of the wind in the lower levels of the troposphere, carries high moisture content Towards the northern and interior part of the Ecuadorian littoral with approaches towards the Western Cordillera causing light to moderate rains and thunderstorms in specific places.

The provinces most affected by this phenomenon are: interior zone of Esmeraldas, Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, northern part of Manabí, northern zone of Los Ríos and northwestern of Pichincha.

In the central and southern zone of the Amazon region, the continuous moisture intake generates unstable conditions, which means light to moderate rainfall. In the province of Napo rains are forecast in Archidona, Quijos, Chaco, Tena and in Orellana in its provincial capital.
Meanwhile, there is wind circulation in the southern part of the inter-Andean alley that receives slight influence causing drizzles.
